Keith A. Blackmon, DDS
Dr. Keith Blackmon received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1992 from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. Prior, he attended the University of Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree while majoring in microbiology. Since completing his formal education, Dr. Blackmon enjoys continuing his education on a regular basis by participating in local, regional, and national dental events. From this continued education, Dr. Blackmon has received advanced training in several areas of dentistry, including sleep apnea, the placement of dental veneers, smile design with a CO2 laser, endodontics, and the esthetic fabrication of CAD/CAM-generated crowns and bridges.
Dr. Blackmon has been serving the Dothan community for over 20 years. His greatest joy comes from the daily interaction that he has with patients. He truly believes in the saying, “new friends are silver and old friends are gold.” Dr. Blackmon also enjoys the mission field and those who serve with him on various mission teams. It also brings him great pleasure to have multiple employees with 10 years of service in our practice. He is also excited to welcome his daughter, Brooke, to the practice as one of our dental hygienists.
Dr. Blackmon has been a member of the American Dental Association for 25 years, and he received the Silver Certification Membership from the Alabama Dental Association in 2017. As a dentist, he strives to meet the needs of every patient that comes into our office, whether you are 6 years old or 60. He believes that everyone’s dental health needs are unique, and he enjoys meeting those individual needs.
For Dr. Blackmon, sports have always been a big part of his life. He was a member of the 1982 Alabama State Football Championship team, and lettered in baseball, basketball, and football in junior high and high school. Dr. Blackmon also served his country for 12 years by joining the Alabama Army National Guard at age 17. He entered as a PFC and eventually obtained the rank of Captain.
Dr. Blackmon is married to the former Miss Eufaula Melissa Henderson. Together, he and his wife have 5 wonderful children and one granddaughter. In his spare time, Dr. Blackmon is a low-handicap golfer who enjoys watching local sporting events.
